Data Profiler

Syndicus NACON is seeking a talented Data Profiler to support the research, normalization, schematization, and correlation of mission-critical and mission-support datasets. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting defensive or offensive cyber operations or network security environments as a developer, analyst, engineer, or systems administrator.

This role supports cybersecurity data analysis initiatives and works with large datasets to enable improved monitoring, intelligence analysis, and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and profile complex datasets supporting cybersecurity and mission systems
• Research, normalize, and correlate mission-critical data sources
• Develop complex queries and analytics within SIEM platforms
• Work with tools such as Splunk, Elastic SIEM, and other security monitoring technologies
• Perform data extraction, transformation, preparation, and labeling to support analytics initiatives
• Collaborate with team members and work independently to meet client objectives
• Support continuous monitoring, threat intelligence analysis, and reporting activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Active TS security clearance (SCI eligible)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in data analytics or cyber data analysis
• Experience working with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic)
• Experience writing complex analytics queries (SPL, SQL, Kibana, Sigma Rules)
• Experience with cyber data monitoring, intelligence analysis, and reporting
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, preparation, and loading for analytics

Desired Skills

• Experience supporting cybersecurity or network security operations in large enterprise environments
• Familiarity with log formats such as JSON, XML, and similar data structures
• Understanding of the OSI Model, networking protocols, and cybersecurity infrastructure
• Experience with data cleansing, schema design, modeling, and ontology concepts
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks or AI/ML frameworks
• Familiarity with distributed cyber data platforms such as BDP or JCC2
• CI Polygraph preferred

Work Location

Hybrid work environment with positions based in Columbia, MD or San Antonio, TX.
