Data Scientist

Syndicus NACON is seeking a talented Data Scientist to support the analysis of mission-critical and mission-support datasets. This role involves working with complex structured and unstructured data in support of government data analysis and analytic development efforts.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with big data systems and developing statistical analytics to ensure data quality and conformance validation. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to accomplish client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze mission-critical datasets to support government analytic initiatives
• Develop data transformations and statistical analytics to validate data quality and conformance
• Work with structured and unstructured data sources to support analytic development
• Perform data extraction, translation, and loading to prepare data for analytics
• Collaborate with team members to deliver data-driven insights and solutions
• Support data preparation, labeling, and transformation processes

Minimum Qualifications

• 9 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or related fields
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Active TS security clearance (SCI eligible)
• Strong Python programming skills for scripting and data manipulation
• Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience debugging SQL queries and data processing pipelines
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
• Familiarity with common data formats such as JSON and XML
• Willingness to complete a programming challenge during the interview process
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (DoD IAT II or higher preferred)

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with command-line tools and back-shell environments
• Experience with Java and Apache Maven build systems
• Experience deploying models as APIs or within containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience supporting cybersecurity or network security operations in large enterprise environments
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Agile project management environments
• Experience working in remote collaboration tools such as Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet

Work Location

Hybrid position based in San Antonio, TX.

• Salary range: $138,000 – $229,000 per year depending on experience
